186. The Great Wall of China

Remember what I said about the triple braided cord? Ecclesiastes 4:12?

Last night while husband and I were driving back from San Antonio we did a google search on The New 7 Wonders of the World and the Great Wall of China is one. While he was driving I was reading the information to him. We learned that it is made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood and other materials and it runs east to west throughout the northern part of China. Aren't you glad you know that? Well read on...

The Great Wall was built originally in part to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groups or military incursions by various warlike peoples or forces. Several walls had already been begun to be built beginning around the 7th century BC;[4] these, later joined together and made bigger, stronger, and unified are now collectively referred to as the Great Wall.

It was recently brought to my attention that God uses the physical to teach us about the spiritual.

God used the Great Wall as a reminder that, "A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken." Ecc. 4:12
